Homemade Natural Deodorant

HOMEMADE NATURAL DEODORANT

Such a great Sunday PJ day creation 🤩

Belief- One of those things that I put off for years cos I told myself it would take ages and brought on overwhelm. Also I didn’t believe natural deodorant would actually work!

Truth- Takes about 15 minutes from gathering the goodies to putting it in the fridge to cool…feels delicious and lasts all day.
Ooh and makes a great pressie 💫

The next step for me is using just local produce, so please inspire me with your ideas 🙏🏼

This is my 3rd batch this year and I’m obsessed…I’VE been following a recipe from almostzerowaste.com that goes like this 👇🏼

INGREDIENTS for 100ml

  • 33g Organic Coconut Oil

  • 33g Cocoa Butter

  • 22g baking soda

  • 33g (total weight) of arrowroot/bentonite clay/tapioca flour- whatever you have in the cupboard (my preference is a mix of all 3 when I’ve got them in)

  • 15-20 drops of your fav essential oils
Ideas for your blends…tea tree, sweet orange, palmarosa, geranium, lavender, sandalwood, grapefruit…get smelling and be intuitive about it- what is your body asking for?

MATERIALS

  • Saucepan

  • Glass bowl that fits above saucepan as a bain-marie

  • Sterilised glass jars (100ml total)

  • Fine mesh sieve

RECIPE

1. Melt the coconut oil & cocoa butter over a bain-marie

2. Sieve the baking powder & arrowroot/bentonite clay/tapioca flour mix into the melted mixture and stir until there are no more lumps

3. Add 15-20 drops of essential oils

4. Stir again then decant into glass jars

5. Once they are cool (about 30 minutes) screw the lids on and give them a good shake

6. Put in the fridge to set, takes an hour or so.

7. Shake again after 5-10 mins of being in the fridge to make sure they’re not separating

8. That’s it! Enjoy the delicious creamy texture, and gift to those you love 💝

Once you’ve got all the ingredients it’s fun I promise…give it a whirl 🫶🏼

Let me know how you get on.

Sending so much love,

Faye xx
